The Malayalam Mission Mumbai Chapter Konkan Region successfully conducted its regional general meeting and completed the formation of study centre committees across the region.
As part of the first phase, study centre committees were constituted in all centres on March 19th, 2026. The regional general meeting was held online on Saturday, March 21st at 8.30 pm, with wide participation from study centre committee members, teachers, parents, and regional office bearers.
The meeting was presided over by Regional President Sam Varghese Othara. Regional Secretary K.T. Ramakrishnan presented a detailed report outlining the activities carried out over the past three years.
Malayalam Mission Mumbai Chapter Secretary Ramachandran Manjarambath, who attended as observer, emphasized the need for stronger representation from the Konkan Region in key initiatives such as Radio Malayalam and Bhoomi Malayalam. He also instructed that a comprehensive library audit be undertaken across study centres.
Representatives from various study centres actively participated in the discussion. Suresh Nair (Ratnagiri), Shajina Prajith (Khed), Sindhu Nair (Roha), and Shibu Mathew (Pen–Vadkal) shared their insights and suggestions. Regional Coordinator Sajini Surendran presented a review of study centre activities in the region.
Teachers and organizational representatives also raised key concerns during the session, to which the Chapter Secretary provided clear guidance and directions.
The meeting also witnessed the election of the new regional leadership. Sam Varghese Othara was elected as Regional President, K.T. Ramakrishnan as Regional Secretary, and Sumesh T as Regional Treasurer.
The meeting concluded at 10 pm with a vote of thanks proposed by K.T. Ramakrishnan.
