Mumbai Malayali Community Mourns the Untimely Demise of Rebecca Jacob
The Mumbai Malayali community was deeply saddened by the tragic death of Rebecca Jacob (24), a young Malayali woman born and brought up in Mumbai, who lost her life in a devastating road accident near Badlapur in the early hours of Sunday.
Rebecca, originally belonging to a family from Kottayam, Kerala, was a resident of Khar, Mumbai. A bright and cheerful young woman, she had completed her M.B.A. degree and was widely loved by her family, friends, and acquaintances for her warm personality, kindness, and positive outlook on life.
According to reports, Rebecca was travelling with friends when the accident occurred around 4 a.m. on the Mumbai–Vadodara Highway. The impact of the collision was severe, resulting in the tragic loss of her life. Another young man, Yogesh Dighe (24), also succumbed to his injuries in the accident, while another occupant is undergoing treatment.
Rebecca had recently celebrated her birthday and was looking forward to a promising future. Her sudden and untimely passing has left her family, relatives, and the wider Mumbai Malayali community in shock and grief.
Friends remember her as a vibrant, affectionate, and caring individual whose smile could brighten any gathering. Her loss is not only a personal tragedy for her family but also a painful loss for all those who knew her.
