Pune Vagdevatha has extended the last date for submitting applications to the All India Pravasi Malayalam Drama Competition and Marathi Drama Competition till May 31st.
The competitions are being organized for expatriate Malayalees, and separate judging panels will evaluate entries in both Malayalam and Marathi categories. Malayali Cultural Society President T.V. Mahesh Kumar has been appointed as the Chairman of the Drama Competition Committee.
Cash prizes of Rs. 25,000, Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively will be awarded to the teams securing first, second and third positions in both categories. In addition, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Director awards will carry a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 each along with a Vagdevatha sculpture plaque.
Five plays from each category will be shortlisted for the final rounds. Only original plays will be accepted, and the duration of each play should be between 30 and 40 minutes.
The selected entries will be announced by June 20. The drama competition will be held during the Diwali holidays.
