The second anniversary of Kalyan Samskarika Vedi was celebrated with a unique musical programme that offered a delightful experience for music lovers. The highlight of the event was the presentation of Ajith Shankaran’s essay “Pattu Maattiyathum Pattu Maariyathum”, ( പാട്ടു മാറ്റിയതും പാട്ടു മാറിയതും ) which explores the emotional evolution of Malayalam film songs. As the essay touched upon various shades of emotion in songs, young singers rendered the respective songs on stage, creating a memorable musical experience for the audience.

The function was presided over by East Kalyan Kerala Samajam President Lalitha Menon, while writer Suresh Varma attended as the chief guest. In his address, Suresh Varma fondly recalled legendary lyricists Vayalar and P. Bhaskaran, who transformed the sense of beauty, love and social consciousness of Malayalis through their powerful metaphors and poetic expressions.

Ramesh Narayanan and P. S. Sumesh, among others, shared their thoughts based on Ajith Shankaran’s thesis. The musical segment featured performances by Aditya, Gowri Ajith, Anagha, Aparna Nair, Devika Nambiar, Kavyendu, Anoop Pillai, Naivedya Acharya, Nishad Acharya, T. K. Prakasham, Vijayankutty, Ananthakrishnan Nair, Ujjwal Sreedharan, Jyothilakshmi Nambiar, Divya Ratheesh and Savita Mohan.

The programme was coordinated by Santosh Pallassana, while KVS Nellivai delivered the vote of thanks.
