Kannur ‘Waves’ Samskarika Charitable Trust has announced the Dr. Sukumar Azhikode Award for this year to noted novelist and cultural activist Preman Illath. The award, which carries a cash prize of ₹25,000, a citation and a plaque, will be presented by Speaker A. N. Shamseer at a function to be held at Jawahar Auditorium, Kannur, on the 15th February at 4 pm.
Preman Illath, a Mumbai-based writer, has received several prestigious honours including the Dr. Sivarama Karanth Award, Mahakavi P. Literary Award, Sharjah Indian Association Novel Award and Janasakthi Puraskaram. His works have been translated into English, Arabic and Kannada.
