Sulochana Shivanandan – AAP candidate from ward No. 17 of Navi Mumbai Corporation Election

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has fielded Sulochana Shiva Nandan, a Malayali social activist and former teacher, as its candidate from Ward No. 17 in the forthcoming Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections. Known for her strong grassroots connect, Sulochana is contesting with the slogan that reflects her determination to bring change at the civic level.

Born and brought up in Mumbai, Sulochana is a resident of Vashi, with family roots in Irinjalakkuda, Thrissur district of Kerala. She has been actively involved in education for many years, taking tuition classes for students, while also dedicating herself to social service.

After joining the Aam Aadmi Party in 2020, Sulochana played an active role in various service initiatives. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was at the forefront of relief activities, including distributing food and essential supplies to economically backward sections.

In Ward 17, her main opponents are candidates from the Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena. With her background in education, social work and community service, Sulochana’s candidature has drawn attention, especially among Malayali voters and residents seeking accountable local governance.
