The annual Mandalam – Makaravilakku Puja celebrations at the Sakinaka Alpanakavu Ayyappa Durga Devi Temple will commence on November 17 and conclude on January 14, 2026. The temple committee announced that a wide range of spiritual rituals and cultural programs have been organized as part of this auspicious festival period.
The celebrations will begin on November 17 with Mahaganapati Homam, followed by Ayyappa Bhagavata Parayanam. On November 18, devotees will participate in the Bhadrakali Puja. Throughout the Mandala period, Udayasthamana Puja will be performed daily, and Annadanam will be served every Sunday for all devotees.
Several special pujas and events have also been scheduled:
November 23: Ayyappa Laksharchana followed by Annadanam
November 28: Offering of 12 Lamps
November 29: Devotees undertaking the Sabarimala yatra will begin their pilgrimage after performing the Kettunira, and will visit important temples en route
December 27: Mandala Puja will be observed with special rituals and programs
January 11: Cultural performances by students of Sakinaka Hare Krishna Balagokulam
January 14 (Makaravilakku Day): A grand Ratha Ghosha Yatra carrying the idol of Ayyappa and Durga Devi will mark the conclusion of the celebrations
