Auto-rickshaw and taxi fares for passengers travelling from Navi Mumbai Airport have been officially fixed. The revised fare structure has been approved and notified by the Panvel Regional Transport Office (RTO) to ensure transparency and prevent overcharging of passengers.
As per the notification, the taxi fare has been fixed at ₹20.66 per kilometre. Accordingly, the fare for a six-kilometre journey is ₹155, while travel between 6 and 8 kilometres will cost ₹207. For distances between 8 and 10 kilometres, the fare is ₹310. The charge remains ₹310 for 10 to 12 kilometres, increases to ₹347 for 12 to 14 kilometres, and reaches ₹998 for longer distances of 40 to 42 kilometres.
For auto-rickshaws, the fare has been fixed at ₹17.14 per kilometre. Based on this rate, the fares for short-distance travel have been fixed at ₹129, ₹171, and ₹214 respectively, depending on the distance covered.
The authorities have stated that the fixed fare system is intended to offer clarity and convenience to air travellers and to regulate transport services operating from the airport.
