Shahana, leading Rabindra Sangeet academy has organised a special
evening of Rabindra Sangeet and dance drama Rajendranandini, based on
Tagore’s Chitrangada, on Saturday 29th August at Veer Savarkar
auditorium.
Rajendranandini the Warrior Princess, voices, live music, narration
and Rabindra Nritya come alive to bring Chitrangada’s journey to life.
, A Prince. A love that makes her question what it means truly to
herself The role of the princess will be played Bharata Natyam
exponent Anushree Bannerjee and role of Arjun will be played by
Bharata Natyam exponent Anil Kumar Singh, besides other artists of
Shahana, the script is by Upamanya Bhattacharya>
Anil Kumar Singh says ” I have always been captivated by the creative
concepts and visionary approach of Anushree Bannerjje, the esteemed
director of Shahana- Rabindra Music and Dance Academy. Her
presentation of dance dramas and other musical dance works, she is
indeed an exceptional artistic visionary. I am profoundly pleased to
undertake the portrayal of the mythological character Arjun in
Rajendranandini, based on Tagore’s Chitrangada., arole that forms a
pivotal foundation for the dance drama with the message of gender
equality,power of inner beauty and power”.
