As part of its Onam celebrations, the Hillgarden Ayyappa Bhakta Sangham (HGABS), Thane brought the festive spirit of Onam to the residents of Param Shantidham Old Age Home in Taloja by distributing gift hampers to them.
HGABS volunteers Sashikumar Nair and Manoj Nair distributed the hampers, which contained a variety of essential items and traditional Onam delicacies, including upperi (banana chips), sharkara varatti (jaggery-coated banana chips), bed sheets, pillow covers, towels, toothpaste, toothbrushes, detergent powder, soap, incense sticks and seasonal fruits.
The residents warmly welcomed the initiative and expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the HGABS volunteers. They appreciated the Sangham’s continued commitment to social service and its efforts to share the happiness and spirit of Onam with elderly members of the community.
The initiative reflected the true essence of Onam — sharing, compassion and bringing joy to others.
