Bombay Keraleeya Samajam, Matunga celebrated Vishu with a variety of cultural programmes on Saturday, April 25 at Kerala Bhavan, Navathi Memorial Hall. The event began at 6 pm with the traditional lighting of the Bhadradeepam and was presided over by Vice President Captain K. Devadas.
Secretary A.R. Devadas delivered the welcome address, highlighting the Samajam’s activities, while Joint Secretary T.A. Sasi proposed the vote of thanks.
The chief guest, K. G. Menon, was honoured with a gold medal and memento by the office bearers along with Women’s Section Convener Smt. Jyotirmayi. Noted singer and Flowers Top Singer Season 5 winner Sivashankar Krishna was also felicitated by Arts Department Convener Harikumar Kurup and the chief guest.
A key highlight of the evening was the release of the Samajam’s publication Vishala Keralam by the chief guest. Treasurer M.V. Ravi was also present on the occasion.
The cultural segment featured soulful renditions by Sivashankar Krishna, performances by Samajam Sangeetha Vedi singers, and vibrant dance presentations by Nrithwadi members. The chief guest later presented mementos to the participating artists.
Shyamlal compered the programme. The celebrations concluded with Vishu greetings and dinner for the attendees.
