Thane Vrindavan Kairali Celebrates 32nd Anniversary with Cultural Grandeur

Thane Vrindavan Kairali Cultural Association celebrated its 32nd anniversary on February 8 with a vibrant evening of cultural programmes at the Thane Srirang School Hall. The celebrations commenced at 6 pm and witnessed the participation of a large number of members and well-wishers.

The function was inaugurated by lighting the ceremonial Bhadradeepam by Association President M. R. Sudhakaran, Secretary P. K. Ramesan, Treasurer B. Prasad, Programme Convener K. Balakrishnan and other managing committee members.

The cultural segment opened with group dances presented by Balakrishnan, Prasad, Mohan Menon, Rameshan and Ramachandran under the leadership of Suresh. This was followed by colourful performances of Oppana, Kaikottikali and Karshaka Nritham by members of the association’s women’s wing—Rajini Balakrishnan, Meera Jinachandran, Swapna Ramachandran, Smitha Menon, Vanaja Sreekumar, Ramya Ravikumar, Deepa Sathish and Beena Unnikrishnan—under the guidance of Shalini Prasad.

Students of Guru Sai Geetha Mohan’s dance class presented dance items, while students of the Malayalam class recited poems. A Hindustani music concert was presented by students of Shambali Banerjee’s music class. Songs were rendered by association members Siddhija Ramesh, Radhakrishnan and Asha Sreekrishnan. The audience was entertained with a comedy presentation titled Ootan Thullal by Prabhakaran and team.

Jeffy Menon, Shraddha, Neha, Keerthi, Bhavana, Anagha Menon, Kiara, Vanya, Naira, Bhavika, Narayani and Veebha Sathish also performed various dance and music items, including a guitar performance.

On the occasion, students who secured high marks in SSLC, Plus Two, Degree, Postgraduate and professional courses during the last academic year, as well as those who excelled in extra-curricular activities at district and state levels, were honoured with merit awards and certificates.

The programme was compered by Itassery Ramachandran and Prakash Nair. The celebrations concluded with prize distribution at 10 pm.
