Ushering in the New Year with compassion and service, Hillgarden Ayyappa Bhakta Sangham (HGABS), Thane distributed New Year gift hampers to the residents of Srirang Anand Ashram, an old age home at Waghbil, Thane.
The thoughtfully curated kits included bedsheets, bath towels, pillow covers, detergent powder, bath soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, incense sticks, calendars, biscuits, and fresh seasonal fruits. In a special gesture, sarees were presented to the women residents and shawls to the men, adding a personal touch to the celebrations.
Beyond material support, the volunteers spent meaningful time with the senior citizens, engaging in warm conversations and sharing tea and refreshments. The interaction brought smiles and a sense of togetherness, reflecting the true spirit of the season.
This New Year initiative by HGABS reaffirmed its commitment to community welfare and the Kerala tradition of caring for elders, strengthening bonds and spreading goodwill within the Mumbai–Thane Malayali community.
