An Ayyappa Puja and Chariot Procession will be held on January 3 at Tunga gaon, Powai, as part of the annual religious celebrations dedicated to Lord Ayyappa.
The day-long programme will begin with special poojas in the morning, followed by annadanam (community lunch) at noon for devotees.
In the evening, a grand chariot procession of Lord Ayyappa will be conducted, accompanied by traditional art forms including Thalapoli, Chendamelam, and Theyyam. The procession will commence from the Powai Chinmaya Mission Mahadeva Temple, proceed to the Powai Subrahmanya Temple for prayers, and thereafter move towards the Tungagaon Ayyappa Mandapam, where the concluding rituals will take place.
Devotees and residents are invited by the organisors to participate in large numbers and seek the blessings of Lord Ayyappa.
