Ayyappa Pooja and Mandala Mahotsavam celebrations are continuing across Mumbai and Navi Mumbai with a series of religious rituals and cultural programmes, drawing large numbers of devotees.
At the Seawoods Dharmashasta–Mahavishnu Temple, Navi Mumbai, the Mandalakaala Mahotsavam will be held on December 20 and 21. The celebrations feature Theyyam, Thalapoli, Deepalankaram, and a special dance performance by Anuradha Sashikumar and her team. On December 21, a ghoshayatra (chariot procession) accompanied by Panchavadyam and Singari Melam will commence from the Karave Ganapathi Temple and conclude at the Mahavishnu Temple.
The Sakinaka Chandhivili Ayyappa Seva Sangh will organise Ayyappa Pooja on December 20 at the Durga Devi Mandir, Kherani Road. The programme includes Ganapati Homam, Bhagavata Parayanam, Ayyappa Sahasranama Archana, free Annadanam, followed by a grand procession with Theyyam, Singari Melam and Thalapoli, culminating in Maha Deepaadhana.
Meanwhile, the Vasai Road Bhakta Samaj will conduct the Dharmashasta Mandala Pooja (Shashtapreethi) on December 20 and 21 at KT Village, Vasai Road West. The rituals include Narayaneeyam, Nama Sankirtanam, and Ayyappa Bhajans by noted artistes.
Ayyappa Bhakta Sangham Marol is conducting their festival from today till 21 December with various poojas, bhajan programme Manasa japalahari today at 7.30 pm by bhajan samrat Dr. Prashanth Varma, bhajan by Marol ayyappa devotees at 5.30 pm on 20th followed by a mohiniattam and bharatnatyamdance programme. The highlight of the concluding day on 21st are annadhanam and procession with panchavadhyam and Thalappoli
