The Kerala Kumbh Mela has been officially scheduled to take place in Thirunavaya from January 18 to February 3. As a preparatory step, a large-scale Organizing Committee Meeting was convened under the leadership of Maha Mandaleshwar Anandavanam Bharathi Maharaj, who also delivered the benediction address.
The meeting was held at the Thirunavaya Navamukunda Temple Satram Hall and was presided over by Dilip Raja, Kottakkal East Kovilakam.
Sabarimala former Melshanthi Areekkara Sudhir Namboothiri spoke on the occasion. Vinayakumar Angadipuram, and Madhu Menon Thirunavaya were among the key participants.
During the meeting, it was announced that the Kumbh Mela will begin with the Sri Chakraratha Yatra, followed by the main ritual of the festival — the holy bathing ceremony. Lakhs of devotees, sanyasis, yogis, and spiritual seekers are expected to participate.
Various sub-committees were constituted to ensure smooth coordination of the festival.The chief patrons appointed for the event include Mata Amritanandamayi,Acharya Mahamandaleshwar, Avadheshananda Giri Maharaj.
Trustee of Kalikapeetham Juna Akhara, K. Keshavadas, addressed the gathering.
Discussions included the Navayogi Samvad, ancient yagnas, and their scientific and spiritual relevance.
The committee confirmed that the event will recreate traditional rituals in their authentic form.
The organizers stated that the cooperation of both the Central and State Governments will be sought to conduct the Kumbh Mela on a grand and historic scale.
More consultative meetings will be convened in the coming days to refine planning and logistics.
Ravinath Indraprastham, Sajeesh Ponmala, and Tantra Vidyapeetham Chairman Mullappally Krishnan Namboothiripad were also present at the meeting.
