Looking for a quick and delicious sweet that can be prepared with minimal effort? Microwave Peda is a simple and creamy Indian sweet made with just a few basic ingredients. This recipe from Reshma Nair is perfect for festive occasions, celebrations, or whenever you are craving something sweet.

To prepare the peda, combine milk powder, sweetened condensed milk, ghee, cardamom powder and saffron (optional). Microwave the mixture briefly, stirring well between intervals, until it reaches a thick, dough-like consistency. Allow the mixture to cool slightly before shaping.

Once cool enough to handle, grease your hands with a little ghee and roll the mixture into equal-sized balls. Flatten them gently and make a small indentation in the centre of each peda, placing a pistachio in the middle for a beautiful finishing touch.

These soft, melt-in-the-mouth pedas are wonderfully easy to make and can be stored in an airtight container for up to 7 days. A quick microwave recipe that brings together rich milk, fragrant cardamom and delicate saffron for a delicious homemade treat!
