Ullas Arts & Welfare Association (Regd.) will celebrate its annual Onam festival, ‘Ponnonam 2026’, on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 4 p.m. at the association’s Kairali Hall.
The celebrations will feature a colourful array of cultural and artistic programmes, along with a cultural conference attended by eminent personalities. The event is expected to bring together members, their families and well-wishers in the true spirit of Onam.
The cultural programme will include Thiruvathira, dance performances, film and folk songs, poetry singing, a traditional boat-race presentation (Aavishkaram) and a karaoke song festival. A cultural conference will also be held as part of the celebrations.
One of the highlights of the programme will be the Educational Awards presentation, honouring the academic achievements of children of association members who have excelled in their SSC and HSC examinations.
Educational Awards for Meritorious Students
The association will honour students who have secured 85 per cent or above in the SSC/HSC examinations for the academic years 2024–25 and 2025–26. Selected students will receive a memento and cash award.
Eligible students are required to submit a copy of their mark sheet at the association office on or before September 15, 2026.
Opportunities to Participate
Members and others interested in participating in the various artistic programmes are requested to submit their names and details to the respective programme conveners on or before September 15, 2026.
The association is also conducting Malayalam language and dance classes. Those interested in joining the classes may contact the association office for further details.
The organising committee has stated that suitable changes may be made to the programmes, if required.
