The Vapi Malayali Welfare Association celebrated the Malayalam Mission Pravesanolsavam (Entrance Festival) with great enthusiasm at the association’s office, marking the beginning of a new academic year for Malayalam Mission students. The event highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting the Malayalam language among the younger generation living outside Kerala.

The programme commenced with the Malayalam language pledge, following which Shaji Antony, Secretary of the Malayalam Mission Gujarat Chapter, formally inaugurated the function. The inaugural session was addressed by Mini Joy Thomas, Vapi Region Coordinator, Girish Menon, Daman Samajam Secretary and Mission Coordinator, Ajit Damodaran, Vice President of the Association, and Raju C.K., Mission Coordinator.

Teachers, Malayalam Mission volunteers and newly enrolled students were felicitated during the function. The students presented cultural programmes adding a colourful cultural touch to the celebrations. Study materials and welcome gifts were distributed to all the newly admitted students.

The programme concluded with a welcome address by Rajesh Kurup, Secretary of the Association, while Vijeesh Nair, Joint Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks.

The Pravesanolsavam served as a meaningful initiative to encourage children to learn their mother tongue and remain connected with Kerala’s rich linguistic and cultural heritage.
