Former Mrs. Kerala Contestant Arrested in Drug Smuggling Case

Harsha Sunny, a former contestant in the Mrs. Kerala 2025 pageant, has been arrested by the Mumbai Customs Department in connection with an alleged attempt to smuggle hybrid cannabis worth approximately ₹11.82 crore from Bangkok to Mumbai.

According to officials, Harsha Sunny (28) arrived at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai, on the night of June 10 aboard Thai Airways flight TG 351 from Bangkok. Acting on suspicion, officers of the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) and the Customs Department intercepted her for inspection.

During the search, officials reportedly recovered around 11 kilograms of hybrid cannabis concealed in 12 vacuum-sealed plastic packets hidden inside a trolley bag. The seized contraband has an estimated market value of ₹11.82 crore.

Following the seizure, Customs officials arrested Harsha Sunny under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for allegedly smuggling the prohibited substance. She was subsequently produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody pending further investigation.

Authorities are continuing their probe to determine whether the accused had any links to a larger drug trafficking network.
