Mumbayile Malayali Prathibhakal is a regular feature on Kerala In Mumbai, dedicated to celebrating the lives and achievements of Malayalees in Mumbai who have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields through talent, commitment, perseverance, and hard work.
For decades, members of the Malayali community have made significant contributions to the growth and development of Mumbai in diverse spheres such as literature, arts, music, cinema, business, education, science, social service, sports, and public life. Their journeys of dedication and excellence continue to inspire generations and serve as a source of pride for the community.
Through this feature, Kerala In Mumbai seeks to document and honour these remarkable personalities by sharing their stories, achievements, struggles, and contributions, thereby preserving an important part of the community’s collective memory.
In this edition of Mumbayile Malayali Prathibhakal, we remember with profound respect and gratitude Dr. K. K. Damodaran, who passed away on August 17, 2014. He was the heart and soul of the Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti (SNMS), an institution he co-founded and nurtured with unwavering dedication, leading it from the front for nearly five decades. Through his life and work, Dr. Damodaran exemplified how the principles and philosophy of Sree Narayana Guru could be translated into meaningful action for the welfare and upliftment of humanity. His vision, selfless service, and steadfast commitment to social and spiritual values continue to inspire generations and remain an enduring legacy within the Malayali community in Mumbai.
We hope this regular feature will serve as a meaningful platform to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding Malayalees of Mumbai whose contributions have enriched both the Malayali community and the city they proudly called home.
