New Delhi’s premier Kuchipudi institution, Natya Tarangini Performing Arts Centre, marks its 50th anniversary with a grand dance presentation on Sunday, April 26th, at Raja Radha Rangmanch.
The event will feature performances by disciples of the legendary Padma Bhushan awardees Dr Raja Reddy, Radha Reddy, and Kaushalya Reddy. The globally acclaimed duo Raja–Radha Reddy are celebrated for their powerful presentations symbolising Purusha and Prakriti, drawing from sacred texts like the Bhagavatham.
Over the decades, Natya Tarangini has nurtured numerous accomplished dancers, with the legacy now carried forward by their daughters Yamini and Bhavana through performances and institutions in India and abroad.
Guru Vijay Shanker, one of the foremost male disciples, recalls his association with the maestros, including his feature in the Films Division documentary on Raja and Radha Reddy.
The programme also coincides with World Dance Day, making it a special tribute to the classical art form. Dance enthusiasts in and around New Delhi should not miss this vibrant showcase by young and talented performers.
