The general meeting of the Mira–Vasai Region of the Malayalam Mission Mumbai Chapter was held on April 12th at 3:00 PM at Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti Hall, Mira Road.
In the absence of the Regional President, Ravi K. R. was elected to chair the meeting. The session commenced with a welcome address by Shiny Teacher. Chapter President R. D. Harikumar attended the meeting as the Mumbai Chapter observer.
Representatives from various study centres participated in the meeting, including members from Mira Road Malayali Samajam Study Centre, BMS Kashmira Study Centre, NMS Study Centre, Vasai East Study Centre, Bhayandar Study Centre, Vasai West Study Centre, and Naigaon Study Centre.
During the session, representatives presented reports on the activities of their respective study centres and discussed measures to improve efficiency. Shiny Teacher elaborated on the activities of the BMS Kashimira Study Centre and highlighted the challenges caused by the absence of cluster meetings.
M. S. Das reported that classes at the Mira Road Study Centre are progressing smoothly but pointed out issues related to attendance recording on the Mizhi app, as well as concerns regarding student dropouts. Vijaya Mani shared updates on the SNMS Study Centre, stating that classes are being conducted effectively. Babu Mathew spoke about the Bhayandar Study Centre, mentioning that classes were previously conducted at two locations and efforts are being made to strengthen its functioning.
Addressing the gathering, Chapter President R. D. Harikumar outlined future plans and initiatives. He described the Mira–Vasai Region as a dynamic unit with strong leadership and emphasized the need to actively involve parents and students in understanding and supporting Malayalam Mission activities. He also stressed the importance of organizing cluster meetings and suggested conducting children’s camps similar to those held in Nasik.
The meeting also witnessed the election of new office bearers. Sheeja Mathew was elected as the Regional President and Vinod Nair as the Regional Secretary.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by M. S. Das at 5:00 PM.
