The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced plans to install 24/7 CCTV surveillance in all its hospitals. This decision follows a meeting with doctors who were protesting the recent assault on a junior female doctor in Kolkata. In addition to the CCTV system, Security Control Rooms will operate around the clock to ensure safety.

The BMC aims to eliminate any lapses in hospital security by ensuring that facilities are well-lit and that security personnel are properly trained and courteous. Hospital heads will be responsible for overseeing the adherence to these security measures.

Commissioner Abhijit Bangar, Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Kurade, and Medical Education Director Neelam Andhare were among the officials present at the meeting.
