A moment of pride for the Malayali community in Mumbai, Lavanya Mundayur has been selected by the Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) for appointment as the Chairman and Managing Director of The New India Assurance Company, the country’s largest public sector general insurance multinational.
Currently serving as the CMD of Agriculture Insurance Company of India, Lavanya Mundayur brings over 35 years of experience in the insurance sector. She began her career with New India Assurance as an Administrative Officer in the early 1990s and has risen through the ranks to be chosen for the organization’s top leadership position—an inspiring journey marked by dedication, professionalism, and excellence.
A native of the Mundayur Namboothiri family with strong roots in Mumbai, Lavanya has also made her mark beyond the corporate world. She is a trained Rabindra Sangeet singer, a Kathakali artist, and had participated in Malayalam television talent programmes during her younger days.
Her remarkable achievement serves as an inspiration to young professionals and stands as a proud moment for Mumbai’s Malayali community.
