The KIM–Raagalaya Awards 2026 was held with great splendour at the Mysore Association Hall, Matunga, Mumbai on April 11th, 2026, bringing together music lovers and members of the Malayali community for a memorable cultural evening.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Raagalaya Lifetime Achievement Award (posthumous) to the legendary music director Salil Chowdhury, whose timeless contributions to Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali and other Indian film industries continue to inspire generations. The award was received by his son, noted music director Sanjoy Chowdhury, on behalf of his late father.

The musical tribute that followed was a soulful journey through Salil Chowdhury’s evergreen compositions. Talented young singers from Mumbai, accompanied by a vibrant live orchestra, captivated the audience with their performances, making the evening truly nostalgic and enchanting.

Continuing its tradition of recognising excellence, Kerala in Mumbai (KIM) presented the KIM Excellence Awards to distinguished individuals who have made notable contributions in their respective fields. The awardees this year were Dr. Sashikala Panicker, Bijoy Oommen, M. K. Navas, Nisha Gilbert, N. Sreejith, and Rakhee Sunil.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to all supporters, participants, and well-wishers who contributed to making the event a grand success. With continued encouragement from the community, KIM looks forward to bringing many more such meaningful and enriching events in the future.
