Kulgaon–Badlapur Malayali Samajam has launched Marathi language classes for members of the community with the aim of helping Malayalis living in the region better understand and communicate in the local language.
The classes were inaugurated by Badlapur Municipal Council Chairperson Ruchita Ghorpade. Speaking on the occasion, she appreciated the initiative of the Samajam and stated that the Municipal Council would extend all possible support for the expansion of the programme. She also informed that certificates would be provided to participants who successfully complete the course conducted under the guidance of the Municipal Council.
Samajam Secretary Suresh Kumar welcomed the gathering. Former Municipal Chairman Rajendra Ghorpade and Samajam President Jinesh also addressed the attendees and highlighted the importance of learning Marathi for better social and administrative interaction in Maharashtra.
The two-month course is being conducted at the Swami Vivekananda Training Institute Hall under the supervision of the Municipal Council. Classes will be held twice a week, with one-hour sessions in the morning and evening.
The classes are being handled by Manisha Bhalke, who holds a postgraduate degree in Marathi.
