In connection with the sacred Chottanikkara Magam ritual on Monday, March 2, and the world-renowned Aattukal Pongala on Tuesday, March 3, members of ASSB Goregaon will present a traditional Chenda Melam Kottal at Bangur Nagar Ayyappa Temple, Goregaon West.
On Monday, March 2, the Chenda Melam will be performed during the evening Deepardhana from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm, adding a vibrant devotional atmosphere to the auspicious occasion of Chottanikkara Magam.
On Tuesday, March 3, the artists will once again perform in the morning from 7:30 am onwards, during the observance of Aattukal Pongala, one of the largest women’s devotional gatherings in the world.
The performances by ASSB Goregaon artists are expected to bring the traditional temple festival spirit of Kerala to the Malayali community in Mumbai.
