Devotion and Tradition Come Alive at Chakkulathu Pongala in Pune

The Chakkulathu Pongala was solemnly celebrated in Pune with the participation of over 150 women, who offered Pongala to Chakkulathamma at Sant Gnyaneshwar Park, Mahadev Temple, Nigdi Pradhikaran. The event was organised under the auspices of the Pune Chakkulathamma Sanjeevani Ashram Charitable Trust.

The ceremonies began in the morning with Maha Ganapathi Homam, followed by the main rituals led by Jayasurya Namboothiri. The installation of the Panchaloha idol brought from Chakkulathukavu was also performed on the occasion. Office-bearers and dignitaries, including President Manoj Pillai, Secretary Saju Sivankutty and Treasurer G. Gopakumar, lit the Bhadradeepam.

The Pongala rituals commenced at 9 a.m. with the lighting of the sacred fire in the Mambatta Pandara stove. After the Pongala offering in the afternoon, a grand prasadam distribution was held, marking the conclusion of the spiritually uplifting event.
