Mumbai is witnessing the simultaneous release of five Malayalam feature films along with their Kerala release, bringing new Malayalam cinema to the big screen for audiences in the city without delay. The films are currently running in select theatres in Mumbai and are drawing good response from movie lovers, especially the Malayali community.
The films being screened are Anomi, Valathuvashathe Kallan starring Biju Menon in the lead role, Aashan with Indrans in the title role, Aashakal Aayiram featuring Jayaram and his son Kalidas Jayaram together, and Prakambanam starring Ganapathi, Sagar Surya and Al Ameen in key roles.
These releases reflect the variety and changing trends of contemporary Malayalam cinema, with themes ranging from social drama to family-oriented and experimental narratives. The initiative ensures that Mumbai audiences get to watch new Malayalam films at the same time as viewers in Kerala.
