In a move aimed at encouraging more commuters to shift to metro travel, Mumbai Metro has announced attractive discounts on ticket fares for passengers travelling on the under ground Aarey Colony–Colaba stretch. The offer is applicable exclusively to those booking tickets through the Metro Connect 3 mobile app.
Passengers who purchase a two-month pass will receive a 15% discount, while those opting for a 45-day pass will be entitled to a 10% discount, officials said.
The Mumbai Metro Rail Vikas Corporation (MMRVC) has also reiterated its commitment to further strengthening metro connectivity across the city. The Metro Connect 3 app, available on both Android and iOS platforms, can be downloaded from their respective app stores.
Currently, an average of 1.6 lakh passengers use the Mumbai Metro every day. Authorities expect this number to double following the newly announced fare reductions, which are expected to provide significant relief to daily commuters who rely on the metro as their primary mode of transportation.
The initiative is receiving positive feedback, with more passengers inclined to choose the metro for its efficiency, affordability, and convenience.
