C. K. Lakshminarayanan (73), a respected community leader, patron and former General Secretary of Mulund Kerala Samajam, passed away on Tuesday evening, March 10, at his daughter’s residence in Chennai. He had been undergoing treatment for the past two years.
Lakshminarayanan, who had been residing at Sachin Society in Mulund East, had moved to Chennai with his family last month following his illness. A native of Karautthedathu tharavadu in Pazhayannur, Thrissur district, he was widely respected for his dedicated service to the Malayali community in Mumbai.
He had retired after serving as a senior official with Godrej and Procter & Gamble. Known for his strong administrative abilities and calm personality, Lakshminarayanan played a significant role in the activities of Mulund Kerala Samajam and served as its General Secretary for many years.
Mulund Kerala Samajam President T. K. Rajendrababu said the organisation has lost a sincere worker with a gentle and endearing personality. Former President C. K. K. Poduval and office bearers A. Radhakrishnan, B. K. K. Kannan, Muraleedharan and Edassery Ramachandran also expressed deep sorrow over the demise of their friend and colleague.
He is survived by his wife Shanthi Lakshminarayanan, retired Headmistress of Gurunanak Public Academy, Bhandup; son Sushanth (UK); daughter Soumya, a theatre teacher in Chennai; daughter-in-law Priyanka Jayaprakash; and son-in-law Sushant Gopalakrishna.
The funeral was held this morning in Chennai.
