Pibare Rama Rasam Enthralls Bengaluru Audience

Samanvaya Dance Academy, Bengaluru, marked its annual day with a captivating thematic presentation titled “Pibare Rama Rasam”, celebrating the life and virtues of Lord Rama through classical dance.

The production beautifully wove together compositions of legendary composers such as Saint Tyagaraja, Maharaja Swati Thirunal, Muthuswamy Dikshitar, Arunachala Kavirayar, Purandaradasa, and Saint Tulsidas. Through expressive choreography and refined abhinaya, the performance offered a rich spiritual and cultural experience to the audience.

The programme was presented at ADA Rangamandira, Bengaluru, under the guidance of Guru Bhavana Udaya Kanthy, founder-director of Samanvaya Dance Academy. She, along with her talented disciples, delivered a performance marked by grace, discipline, and artistic excellence.

Guru Bhavana Udaya Kanthy, a postgraduate in Performing Arts from Annamalai University, has trained under eminent gurus and has choreographed several acclaimed dance productions including Krishna Vaibhavam, Mahadevam Rasamayam, Amba – The Mother, and Vaishnavam. Her contributions to the field have earned her numerous honours such as the Sanchari Kala Shree Award, Natya Mayuri, Natya Vilasini Award, and Guru Shreshta Award.

The academy’s students, who regularly perform across India and abroad, showcased their dedication and passion for Bharatanatyam through this presentation. The annual day also highlighted the institution’s commitment to nurturing young talent in classical dance.

Distinguished guests at the event included renowned Bharatanatyam exponent, mentor, and scholar Dr. Padmaja Suresh, and Mumbai-based Kuchipudi and Kathakali exponent as well as noted arts critic Guru Vijay Shanker.

The event concluded with widespread appreciation from art lovers, reaffirming Samanvaya Dance Academy’s role in preserving and promoting India’s classical dance heritage.
