Malayalam Mission Powai–Sakinaka Eastern Region Forms New Committee

The Malayalam Mission Mumbai Chapter’s Powai–Sakinaka Eastern Region has successfully completed the formation of its new administrative committee as part of its organizational restructuring process.

In the first phase, study centre committees were constituted across five centres in the region: Progressive Arts Club (Sakinaka), Ashan Memorial Reading Room (Jarimari), Bombay Progressive Yuva Sabha (Kajupada), Vikhroli Malayali Samajam (Vikhroli), and Mahindra Splendor Co-operative Housing Society (Bhandup).

The second phase witnessed a regional general meeting held on Sunday, March 22nd, at 5 PM at the Progressive Arts Club Auditorium, Sakinaka. The meeting saw active participation from existing and newly elected committee members, teachers, and council representatives from all five study centres.

The session was presided over by outgoing President Pavithran Kannot, while Secretary Sija Ravi welcomed the gathering and presented the report of past activities. Malayalam Mission Mumbai Chapter Secretary Ramachandran Manjarambath attended as an observer, and Chapter Vice President Rajashree Mohan participated as a special invitee.

During the meeting, Pavithran Kannot was elected as the new Regional President, and Sindhu Ajay assumed charge as Regional Secretary.

Regional Coordinator Kannan Thankappan expressed gratitude to all participants for their wholehearted support and cooperation in successfully conducting the general meeting.

The newly formed committee is expected to strengthen Malayalam language promotion activities and community engagement initiatives in the Powai–Sakinaka Eastern Region.
