Kerala Samajam Ulwe Node, Navi Mumbai marked International Women’s Day with a meaningful and well-organised programme aimed at promoting awareness on women’s rights and empowerment.
The event was inaugurated by noted social activist Rugmini Sagar. Advocate Rajalakshmi Mohandas of the Bombay High Court delivered an insightful talk on the legal rights of women, elaborating on key legal protections, common issues faced by women, and available remedies. Her session was interactive, with participants receiving clear and practical guidance to their queries.


Samajam Secretary and Women’s Section Convener Shyja Biju welcomed the gathering, while Joint Convener Mani Sajeevan proposed the vote of thanks.
As part of the celebrations, Dr. Indira Devi (Homeopath), Ajitha Deepak (Doordarshan Grade Artist), and writer Leena Nair were honoured for their contributions in their respective fields.
The programme stood out for its focus on legal awareness and its effort to inspire confidence and social responsibility among women.
