14th Malayalotsavam Concludes with Grand Closing Ceremony

The 14th Malayalotsavam organized by the Malayala Bhasha Pracharana Sangham concluded with a colourful closing ceremony on Sunday, March 15th at Chembur Adarsha Vidyalayam. The event showcased award-winning artistic performances by artists from various fields, making the finale a memorable cultural evening.

The function was presided over by Sandeep Varma, President of the Malayala Bhasha Pracharana Sangham, while General Secretary Reena Santosh welcomed the gathering. Renowned film and serial actor, presenter and State Award winner Kishore N. K. inaugurated the closing ceremony.

In his inaugural address, Kishore N. K. spoke about the importance of bridging ideological differences between the old and new generations and emphasized the need for dialogue and understanding. Interacting with the audience, he appreciated the efforts of the Malayala Bhasha Pracharana Sangham in organizing large-scale cultural platforms like the Malayalam Festival in a metropolis like Mumbai and praised the artists who presented excellent performances. He was honoured on the stage with a commemorative plaque presented by T. N. Hariharan, Patron of the Malayalotsavam Celebration Committee.

T. N. Hariharan (President, Keraleeya Kendra Sanghatana), K. Pavithran (Secretary, Kerala People’s Education Society), Ramachandran Manjarambath (Secretary, Malayalam Mission Mumbai Chapter), Rajan Nair (Treasurer, Malayala Bhasha Pracharana Sangham) and Girijavallabhan (Editor, Keralam Valarunnu) were also present on the stage. On the occasion, Kishore N. K. released the special edition of the organization’s mouthpiece “Keralam Valarunnu.” Members from ten regions of the Malayala Bhasha Pracharana Sangham attended the closing ceremony.

Awards were presented to the winners of various literary competitions. Gaurinanda Rajendran (Vasai) won the logo competition. In the literary category, Rajan Kinatinkara and Raghu Balakrishnan secured first and second prizes respectively in poetry, Meghanathan and Ranjith Raghupathi in short story, and Mohanan K. V. and Suresh Kumar T. in essay writing.

Awards were also distributed to the winners of the drama festival held on February 1st, along with recognitions for Best Actor and Best Actress in both groups.

During the function, trophies were presented to the winners of the Malayalotsavam kendra Kalotsavam held on December 14th. The Kalyan–Dombivli region team secured the championship for the sixth time by scoring the highest points, while the Navi Mumbai region team emerged as runners-up.

The ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from members representing the ten regions of the Malayala Bhasha Pracharana Sangam, marking a vibrant conclusion to the 14th Malayalotsavam.
