The annual Bombay Keralaleeya Samajam Aksharashloka sadassu and Competition was held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Kerala Bhavanam.
Rajya Sabha MP, noted writer and thinker C. Sadanandan Master inaugurated the programme by lighting the Bhadradeepam at 10 a.m. Addressing the contestants and audience, he highlighted the importance of nurturing the tradition of Malayalam literature and Aksharashlokam.

Welcoming the gathering, Samajam Secretary A. R. Devadas said that love for letters is the source of knowledge and appreciated the efforts of Bombay Keralaleeya Samajam in promoting Malayalam literary traditions.
A special highlight of the programme was the participation of ten children learning Aksharashlokam under the guidance of Saranya Krishnakumar, which added a new dimension and inspiration for the future of the art form.

During the function, senior Aksharashlokam Acharyan of Mumbai, Narayanankutty Warrier, was honoured with a gold medal and plaque for his contributions to the field. The programme also paid tribute to the memory of late Suma Ramachandran, last year’s winner and a respected figure in Aksharashlokam.
At the closing ceremony held in the evening, cash prizes and plaques were distributed to the winners, while all participants were honoured with plaques.
In the monosyllable competition, Dr. P. Surendran won the first prize, while Anjali Kesavan and Sheela S. Menon secured the second and third prizes respectively.
Former Secretary Premarajan Nambiar welcomed the gathering at the concluding function and Governing Body Member P. Suresh Babu delivered the vote of thanks. Jyotirmayi, member of the Women’s Section, was also present. Contestants shared their experiences at the event.
