A new chapter in Kerala’s traditional percussion art is set to unfold in Nallasopara with the debut performance of the “Nadalayam” ensemble, a group trained under the guidance of renowned gurus Ajayan Nair and Aditya Nair.

The ensemble will present its first Chempada Melam, marking an important milestone in their journey in the field of traditional temple percussion. The performance will take place at the Sree Ayyappa Temple (Mini Sabarimala) in Nallasopara on Sunday at 8.30 am.

The debut performance is expected to bring vibrant rhythms and the rich tradition of Kerala’s percussion culture to the historic land of Nalla Sopara. Following the Arangetram(debut melam), a Melam collection performance by the Vasai Team will also be presented.

Art lovers and members of the Malayali community in the Vasai–Virar region are expected to attend the event and witness the beginning of this promising percussion ensemble.
