Matru Sangham Celebrates Women’s Day in Kalyan

International Women’s Day was celebrated on a grand scale at Kalyan Cathedral with the participation of a large number of women from different parts of the Archdiocese. The celebrations were inaugurated by Archbishop Mar Sebastian Vaniyapurackal.

In his message, the Archbishop highlighted the invaluable role of mothers in nurturing families and strengthening societal values. Fr. Davis Chiramal delivered the keynote address, while Global Matruvedi President Bina Joshi also addressed the gathering.

During the programme, mothers with large families, senior members who have been actively involved in the Matru Sangham for many years, and students who secured high marks in board examinations were honoured.

Matru Sangham President Somini Vinson welcomed the gathering. Director Fr. Shaji Parikkappally, Assistant Director Fr. Phibin Sajesh, Treasurer Shyla James, Animator Sister Sini Devasya and Secretary Rachel Sajesh led the proceedings.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and served as a meaningful celebration recognising the contributions of mothers and women in society.
