International Women’s Day was celebrated with enthusiasm on March 8 at the NBKS Auditorium under the auspices of Nerul New Bombay Keraleeya Samajam (NBKS).
The programme was inaugurated by Care 4 Mumbai Secretary Priya M. Varghese, while Bhavya M.K. (TISS–ICMR) delivered the keynote address. The function was presided over by Samajam Vice President K.T. Nair.

Women’s Section Convener Omana Unni welcomed the gathering and Samajam Secretary Prakash Kattakada introduced the distinguished guests. In their speeches, the speakers highlighted the importance of women’s empowerment and shared relevant experiences and insights, which were well received by the audience.

During the function, Samajam member and poetess Sathidevi Warrier was honoured by the chief guest and keynote speaker in recognition of her contributions.

The celebration also featured a variety of cultural programmes presented by members of the Samajam Vanitha Section, adding colour and vibrancy to the event.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Managing Committee Member Latha Shibu.
