Kalyan Samskarika Vedi organised its February monthly literary discussion recently, with Lalitha Menon presiding over the meeting. The programme featured a detailed discussion on the autobiography “Ormakaliloode” written by noted singer and playwright Premkumar.
On the occasion, Premkumar was honoured with a Samajam Ponnada in recognition of his contributions to music and theatre. K. Rajan presented a comprehensive review of the book, highlighting the artistic journey and experiences narrated in the autobiography.
Adding a musical touch to the evening, Premkumar’s disciples Anirudh and Ashwin rendered a selection of his popular film and drama songs, which were warmly received by the audience.
Several members and well-wishers, including Kattoor Murali, P. Viswanathan, Santosh Sarathi, Anil Prakash, Pramod Panicker, Babu Sreekaryam, Linod Varghese, Azhakesan Achuthan, Sankaranarayanan, Ambili Krishnakumar, V. K. Saseendran, Vijayakumar, T. K. Rajendran, Savita Mohan, Deepa Vinod Kumar, Ashokan Nattika, K. V. S. Nellivai and Santosh Pallassana, spoke on the occasion and shared their thoughts on the book and the author.
Liji Nambiar proposed the vote of thanks, marking a fitting conclusion to the literary evening.
