Narayanan Nambiar, a native of Kannur district in Kerala, has emerged as a prominent Malayali candidate in the forthcoming Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation election. Contesting from Ward No. 17 of Mira Road, Narayanan Nambiar is well known among local residents for his long-standing social involvement and grassroots connect.

Having arrived in Mumbai over three decades ago as an AC mechanic, Nambiar later settled in Mira Road in 2002. His close association with the Malayali community and active participation in social, cultural, and religious organisations such as Samskarika Vedi, Ayyappa Temple Committee, and Muthappan Seva Samithi have earned him wide acceptance across communities.

Initially associated with the BJP, Narayanan Nambiar decided to contest the election as an independent candidate. Recognising his strong grassroots influence and popularity, the Congress has announced its unconditional support to his candidature. Senior Congress leaders, party workers, and a large section of Malayalis are actively participating in his campaign.

With a diverse voter base of over 37,000, including Marathi, North Indian, Gujarati, Marwari, minority and South Indian voters, Nambiar’s inclusive approach and development focused work in the ward have generated positive expectations. Residents are hopeful that his experience, accessibility, and commitment to public service will translate into electoral success.
