Nalanda Kanaka Nartana Puraskaar 2025 to Honour Eminent Artistes

Mumbai: The Nalanda Dance Research Centre will confer Nalanda’s Kanaka Nartana Puraskaar – 2025 on distinguished artistes for their outstanding contribution to Indian classical and folk arts. The award ceremony will be held on Sunday, 11 January 2026, from 6.00 pm onwards, at Kanaka Sabha, Nalanda Dance Research Centre, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai.

The programme will be graced by Dr. Shailendra Deolankar, Director of Higher Education, Government of Maharashtra, as the Chief Guest.

The awardees for the year include Smt. Alka Gujar (Sitarist and Music Educator), Dr. Ganesh Chandanshive (Folk Artist and Director, Loka Kala Department, University of Mumbai), Shri Jigar Soni & Shri Suhrad Soni (Folk Dancers and Choreographers), and Shri Narayan Mani (Saraswathi Veena).

Instituted by Nalanda, the Kanaka Nartana Puraskaar recognises excellence and lifelong dedication in the field of Indian performing arts. Founded in 1966 by the legendary danseuse Dr. Kanak Rele, Nalanda continues to play a pivotal role in preserving and promoting India’s rich cultural heritage.
