Mumbai will host a special literary evening with Kerala-born, US-based author Dr. Suresh U. Kumar, centred on his debut novel Girl in Scarlet Hijab. Set against the socio-political landscape of 1980s Kerala, the novel sensitively explores themes of identity, conscience, courage and choice through the life of a young woman negotiating tradition and personal freedom.
The book reading and discussion will feature Dr. Suresh U. Kumar in conversation with Dr. Swaroop Sampat Rawal, with the session moderated by Rahul Saini. The event promises an engaging dialogue on empathy, social understanding and Kerala’s enduring reading culture.
