New Delhi:
Indian Railways has announced that the popular UTS mobile application, used for booking unreserved and season tickets, will be withdrawn from March 1, as part of its move to consolidate passenger services under a single digital platform.

All services currently available on the UTS app have now been integrated into the ‘Rail One’ mobile application, which serves as a unified interface for multiple railway passenger services. Passengers can continue to book unreserved tickets on the Rail One app using the same login credentials they previously used for UTS.

The UTS app had gained wide acceptance among passengers for its convenience, enabling ticket purchase before reaching the railway station, eliminating queues at counters, and easing concerns related to small cash transactions. The increased adoption of mobile ticketing has also helped the Railways significantly reduce crowding at ticket counters and optimise staffing.

To encourage the transition to the new platform, Indian Railways has announced a 3 percent discount on unreserved ticket bookings made through the Rail One app. This promotional benefit will be available for a specific period.

In addition, the facility to purchase and renew season tickets has also been shifted from the UTS app to Rail One. Passengers who have already purchased season tickets through UTS will continue to have access to their tickets on the app until the expiry of their validity.

The move is aimed at simplifying digital services, enhancing user experience, and providing passengers with a seamless, single-window mobile solution for railway travel.
