Mandala Pooja Mahotsavam Celebrations Continue Across Mumbai

Mumbai is witnessing spiritually vibrant Mandala Pooja Mahotsavam celebrations at several places across the city, with a series of traditional rituals and cultural programmes being held from mid-December till the end of the month.

The Ram Nagar Ayyappa Temple, Borivali, is observing its annual pooja festival from December 16 to 24, with daily poojas conducted under the guidance of Thantri Azhakath Parameswaran Namboothiripad. The celebrations include flag hoisting, special rituals, Bhagavati Seva, Pushpa Abhishekam, Pallivetta, Arattu, and Annadanam.

At the Goregaon Ayyappa Temple, Bangur Nagar, Mandalaghosham is being held from December 16 to 28, featuring a rich lineup of devotional and cultural programmes such as classical dances, bhajans, Swarasandhya, Laksharchana, Bhagavata Mahatmyam discourse, and women’s devotional presentations.

Sahar Shiva Parvati Ganapathi–Ayyappa Temple at Andheri east is conducting its Mandala Pooja Festival from December 16 to 20, with events including Maha Ganapathi Homam, malayalam drama Kuttichaathan, music and dance performances, Bhagavata Parayanam, bhajans, and a grand Ayyappa Rathaghosha Yatra accompanied by traditional temple percussion.

Adding to the celebrations, the Marol Ayyappa Seva Sangham will observe its 51st Mandala Pooja Celebrations from December 19 to 22 at the Blossom Society Grounds, Marol. The programme includes various poojas and a range of cultural offerings such as devotional bhajans, classical dance performances, and other spiritual events, with active participation from the devotee community.

These Mandala Pooja celebrations across Mumbai reflect the deep-rooted devotion to Lord Ayyappa, blending sacred rituals with cultural harmony and community spirit.
