Actress and dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi has resigned from FEFKA, protesting the move to reinstate actor Dileep, who was recently acquitted in the actress assault case. Announcing her resignation, she stated that she will not be part of any film organization hereafter.

Bhagyalakshmi criticized FEFKA and the actors’ association (AMMA) for considering Dileep’s return, recalling that the organization had earlier declared full support to the survivor. She revealed that in the 54-member General Council, 53 members supported the move, all of them men.

She also alleged that Dileep had a “specific plan” when mentioning Manju Warrier’s name recently, adding that she had warned Manju years ago to be cautious.

On social media, Bhagyalakshmi wrote that she “cannot remain in an organization with a hunter and those who support him,” adding that only a lower court verdict has been issued so far and that higher courts are yet to decide.

She also criticized political responses to the issue, stating that they reflect the attitude towards women if such groups come to power.
