Hill Garden Ayyappa Bhakta Sangam (HGABS), Thane—an organisation known for its long-standing commitment to social welfare—has once again stepped forward to support a family in distress.

Established in 1996 and registered as a charitable organisation, HGABS has consistently been involved in a wide spectrum of humanitarian activities, including educational assistance, medical aid, senior care, disaster relief, and other socially relevant support programmes. Over the years, the Sangam has earned the goodwill of the community for its continuous and meaningful interventions.

In its latest initiative, HGABS responded to an urgent appeal from Arjun, a 16-year-old Class XI student from Thrissur, Kerala. His mother, Latha P. S., a widow from an economically vulnerable background, has been diagnosed with breast cancer and requires immediate chemotherapy and radiation treatment. With treatment expenses estimated to exceed ₹10 lakhs, the family has been facing severe financial hardship.

Moved by the situation, HGABS mobilised a fundraising effort with the support of its members, friends, and well-wishers. On 20th November, representatives of HGABS—Sashikumar Nair and Rajendran Nair—visited the family at their home in Poonkunnam, Thrissur. A cheque for ₹1,00,003 was handed over to assist with Latha’s ongoing medical treatment. To ensure Arjun’s education continues uninterrupted, essential study materials were also provided.

HGABS conveyed its heartfelt prayers for Latha’s speedy recovery and reaffirmed its continued commitment to supporting deserving families in need. For more details contact Sashikumar Nair on +91 99691 04894
