The release of Mumbai-based writer Unni Changat’s first collection of short stories “God Hears Prayer” (Daivam Kelkkunna Prarthana) was held at the New Bombay Cultural Centre, at the closing ceremony of the two-day literary camp organized by Mumbai Literary Forum and New Bombay Cultural Centre. Renowned poet, film lyricist and screenwriter Anwar Ali released the first edition to Manoj Malavika, President of New Bombay Cultural Centre. Writer and critic Dr Mini Prasad, writer Kanakoor R Sureshkumar and Keralaleeya Kendra Sanghatana Vice President Dr Venugopal were present on the occasion. Writer and publisher Atiq Bevinja conducted the book launch. Writers from Mumbai, various districts of Kerala, Raigad, Pune, Silvaasa, Goa, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal and Hyderabad attended the event. .
A native of Guruvayur Thiruvenkadam, Unni Changat has been a resident of Mumbai for more than three and a half decades. He has participated in the publication of the collection of poems Sree Krishna Bala leelakal. His literary works have been published in Bhaktapriya, Visala Keralam, Mumbai Jalakam and Sahaja (Goa). This book, introduced by Kanakkoor R Sureshkumar and appreciation note by Kakkassery Radhakrishnan Master, contains about twenty-five stories that combine time and space in precise proportions and create interesting stories.
