The Malayalam Language Promotion Group ( Malayala Bhasha Pracharana Sangham) has announced an extensive six-month calendar of events for the 15th Malayalam Festival ( Malayalotsavam), widely regarded as the “Creative Festival of Mumbai Malayalees.” Marking a significant milestone, this year’s festival promises a vibrant celebration of Malayalam language, literature, arts and culture through a series of programmes across Mumbai.

The festival will officially be inaugurated on August 16, heralding the beginning of a six-month-long cultural extravaganza. As part of the inaugural celebrations, a Book Exhibition, Cultural Conference, and Poetry Reading Sessions featuring leading publishers and literary personalities from Kerala will be held on August 15 and 16.

The organisation has also announced its annual activity calendar. Area-level Annual General Meetings will be conducted between August 10 and September 30, followed by the Central Annual General Meeting on October 11.

October 18 will be observed as Membership Day, during which volunteers of the Malayalam Language Promotion Group will undertake door-to-door campaigns across Mumbai to enrol new members and strengthen the organisation’s outreach within the Malayalee community.

To mark Kerala Piravi, celebrations will be organised in association with various Malayalee organisations from November 1 to 5. Area-level Malayalam Festivals will then be conducted throughout November, providing a platform for local talents in literature, music, dance, drama and other cultural activities.

The Grand Finale of the 15th Malayalam Festival has been scheduled for December 27, where winners from the various area-level festivals will participate in the Central Arts Festival.

The celebrations will continue with a Drama Festival on January 17, 2027, while the Valedictory Function and Award Presentation Ceremony of the 15th Malayalam Festival will be held on January 31, 2027, bringing the landmark cultural event to a grand conclusion.

The programme calendar was announced by Sandeep Varma, President, and Reena Santosh, General Secretary, of the Malayalam Language Promotion Group.
